Paper Wireframes | Digital Wireframes | Lo-Fi Prototypes | Usability Studies

For a fast iteration process of possible homepage designs for the app, I used paper wireframes.
Paper wireframing is actually one of my favorite parts of any design process. I use it for everything and used it before I knew what it was called (including this website).
Wireframes help to identify the negotiable and non-negotiable elements in my design. Pictured are a few quick sketches of the app.

Every year TBCC & Stay LIT, a Chicago nonprofit organization geared towards guiding youth into leadership provides the community with access to a Community Resource Guide. The guide is a collection of resources for the Chicago neighborhoods they serve and includes information on schools, libraries, community centers, and public service resources. The guide also includes information on the organization's sponsors and events of the previous year.
Over the course of 3 months, I carefully curated their resource information to create this 60-page community resource guide for the five Chicago communities TBCC serves. With strict standards and a desire for readability and creativity, I worked with TBCC to meticulously craft this guide to give this organization what they were looking for.
In my time with TBCC, I also created several pieces of content and managed their social media to deliver an 80% increase in social media insights within 90 days.

Plantify- The Ultimate Mobile App for Plant Parents
Course Project; Google UX Design Professional Certificate (Ongoing)
The Product:
"Plantify" is a mobile app designed to offer plant owners accurate and easy to understand information about caring for their plants. The app allows for users to track progress, create profiles for each plant they own, and stay on top of their plants’ needs like watering, fertilizing, and pruning.

Project Overview
The problem:
Current plant care app users have trouble finding accurate information on caring for their plants, personalized support, and a streamlined place they can keep up with the progress and care schedule for their plants.
The goal:
My goal was to design an intuitive and engaging app that helps plant parents stay on track with the care of their plants, get human-to-human help with their care plans, and get accurate information on the plants they are interested in bringing into their home.

Understanding the User
The project began with UX Research by identifying pain points and desires expressed by plant owners who currently use and/or have used other plant care apps. Through identifying pain points, creating user personas, and seeking to understand user stories and experiences, I was able to begin planning and app that would address actual user concerns and take into consideration accessibility, inclusivity, and innovation.
Idenitfying Pain Points
Major pain points discovered were in relation to inaccurate diagnostic and care information, lack of customization for plant needs, and a need for a singular platform to track progress, store information, and get care help.
Main User Persona
The Plantify app was designed to reach a wide range of users, and I used the persona Brooke for this project as the representative for the target audience. Brooke is a new plant parent and school teacher who needs a reliable plant identification and care app to stay on track with her plant care schedule and get information on how best to care for her plants.
